Our Background
Tri-City was founded in 1979 by former Pastor Benny Wood. Tri-City is a down-home friendly southern Baptist church that opens its doors everyone. All are welcome at Tri-City Baptist Church. We proudly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ while preaching from the the written Word of God given to us through the one and only Holy Bible.
We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the entire universe (Gen 1:1). We believe that God created male and female in the likeness of His own image. (Gen 1:27). We believe that mankind has fallen and are under the curse of God (Gen 3). We believe that all of mankind are all guilty of sin (Romans 3:23) and are due the penalty of sin which is the wrath of God which includes physical and spiritual death (Romans 6:23). We believe that God so loved the world that he sent a savior to pay the cost of sin and redeem us all back to God. (John 3:16). We believe that God through his Grace and Mercy has given us the FREE gift of salvation through Faith alone in His son Jesus Christ alone (Eph 2:4-9) We believe that mankind can not earn their way to heaven but must put all trust and faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the work of salvation was completed when Jesus Christ who was born of a virgin (Matt 1:23, Luke 1:27, Isaiah 7:14), lived a perfect sinless life while keeping the law of God perfectly (1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5, Hebrews 4:15, 2 Corinthians 5:21), went to an old rugged cross where he suffered and died for the sins of the whole world (John 3:16,Romans 5:8, 1 John 2:2, 1 Cor. 15:3). We believe that Jesus was buried in a barrowed tomb where he lay for 3 days. We believe that on that 3rd day through the power of God, Jesus came back to life, the stone covering the tomb was rolled away and Jesus walked out of the tomb defeating death and sin once and for all (Mark 15:37-16:7, Matt 28:2-7, Luke 24:1-7). We believe that once a person truly repents of their sin, puts their trust and faith in Jesus, and confesses him as Lord (Romans 10:9-11) then they will be forgiven and will be saved.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and that that the Bible is without error and is the only true word of God.
